You will need:
Font of choice – I used Gravedigger, found
Halloween Party scrapkit by Kittz Kreationz FTU found
Tube of choice. I used Ashley Halloween by Elias Chatzoudis. His work can be found at
Scrappityscraps Halloween Template 1 which can be found
Open Halloween Template 1. Copy, and close original
Delete top layer ( copyright ).
Add new raster layer at the bottom and floodfill white
Click on Big rectangle. Selections – float – defloat
Add new raster layer and paste Paper 9 into selection. Selections – select none.
Add new raster layer and paste Paper 9 into selection. Selections – select none.
Sharpen twice. Dropshadow
Make foreground colour #aa3d23 and background colour #f6ca5c.
Create background gradient angle 45 and 1 repeat.
Click on Smaller rectangle rectangle. Selections – float – defloat
Add new raster layer and fill with gradient. DO NOT DESELECT.
Add new raster layer and fill with gradient. DO NOT DESELECT.
Go to effects - Mura Meister Cloud. Click reset colours. OK
Selections – select none.
Effects – textures – blinds
Width = 7, opacity = 20, colour = #2c2024
Dropshadow
Paper 6 – Resize 50%
Paste at left above thin rectangle layer. Duplicate paper and mirror.
Merge both papers together.
Click on thin rectangle. Selections – float – defloat. Selections – invert.
Click on Paper 6 layer and hit delete.
Deselect.
Border thin rectangle - Selections – float – defloat
Add new raster layer and paste Paper 9 into selection. Selections – select none.
Add new raster layer and paste Paper 9 into selection. Selections – select none.
Sharpen twice. Adjust – add noise. Gaussian 50 with monochrome box checked.
Give inner bevel of choice. Dropshadow.
Make foreground colour #2c2024 and background colour #e86718.
Create background gradient angle 45 and 1 repeat.
Click on Circle. Selections – float – defloat
Add new raster layer and fill with gradient. DO NOT DESELECT.
Add new raster layer and fill with gradient. DO NOT DESELECT.
Go to effects - Mura Meister Cloud. Click reset colours. OK
Deselect.
Effects – texture effects – weave, with settings on 2 4 40. Both colour setting on #db9f4b.
Border circle - Selections – float – defloat
Add new raster layer and paste Paper 8 into selection. Selections – select none.
Add new raster layer and paste Paper 8 into selection. Selections – select none.
Sharpen. Give inner bevel of choice. Dropshadow.
Position close up of tube over left grey square. Remove excess then duplicate and mirror.
Merge 2 tube layers together.
Apply pentadotcom dot and cross on default settings.
Erase the centre grey square.
Use magic wand and click on both the remaining grey squares.
Selections – modify – expand by 6.
Layers – new raster layer. Fill with Paper 9.
Deselect. Sharpen.
To create a frame effect do the following:
Make sure the Paper 9 layer is above the grey squares.
Using magic wand, click on both grey squares. Click on paper 9 layer and hit delete.
Deselect. Delete grey squares template layer.
Deselect. Delete grey squares template layer.
Inner bevel on frames. Dropshadow. Make sure the frames are sitting above the tube layer and merge down.
NOTE: THIS IS WHERE WE CREATE THE AVATAR:
Copy the framed tube layer, and paste as a new image.
Leave it for now – we’ll come back it shortly
Merge together the 2 wordart layers.
Selections – select all – float - defloat.
Layers – new raster layer. Fill with #2c2024.
Selections – modify – expand by 2.
Layers – new raster layer. Fill with #e86718
Deselect.
Move brown layer above the orange one
Add noise to the brown layer – Gaussian 50 monochrome box checked.
Set opacity of orange layer to 50. Dropshadow orange layer.
Merge together the 2 dotted line layers.
Selections – select all – float - defloat.
Layers – new raster layer. Fill with #2c2024
Deselect.
Inner bevel and dropshadow.
Fireworks – Paste above smaller rectangle layer and move left.
Duplicate – mirror
Bats – Resize 60%. Paste above border circle layer and move right.
Dropshadow.
Curly ribbon orange – Paste above bats layer and move left.
Copy & paste your main tube on top of all other layers. Dropshadow.
Delete all original template layers.
Add any other embellishments of choice.
Crop & resize if desired.
Add copyrights and name.
AVATAR
Go back to the new image with the 2 framed tubes that you pasted earlier. Delete one of the framed pictures, and move the other to the centre.
Curly ribbon orange – Resize 50%. Paste to the left. Duplicate – mirror.
Sharpen & dropshadow.
Merge visible.
Copy this and paste as a new image again. This is your avatar!
Add copyrights.
I find I have to save avatars as a jpg, or they go a funny colour when you paste them in your profile.
