DEATH AND DARKNESS PTU

You will need:

Font of choice – I used grave digger, found

Tube of choice. I used one by Jay Trembly called Death Was Pretty.  Jay’s tubes can also be purchased through SATC

Mask of choice – I used WSL84 by Wee Scots Lass

Open a new raster 700 x 700 and fill white.

Layers – new raster layer.

Selections – select all. Paste Paper 1 into selection.

Deselect.

Apply mask WSL84

In layers palette, merge group.

Stretch mask to all sides.

Element 22 (wire mesh) – Resize 65%. Paste above mask layer and slide to top left corner.

Sharpen. Duplicate – mirror – flip.

Merge both together and Dropshadow.

Frame 2 – Resize 75%.  Free rotate left 90

Paste above the mesh layer. Sharpen. Slide to the left.

Duplicate. On the top copy, resize 90%. Free rotate right 15 then slide to the right.

Paper 5 – Resize 65% then 90%.

Paste above the mesh layer (below both frames). Duplicate.

In Layers palette, move one copy of the paper to sit between the two frames.

Click inside Top frame with magic wand.

Selections – modify – expand 4.

Selections – invert. Click on paper directly below this frame and hit delete.

Deselect.

Sharpen paper

Dropshadow frame.

Click inside Bottom frame with magic wand.

Selections – modify – expand 4.

Selections – invert. Click on paper directly below this frame and hit delete.

Deselect.

Sharpen paper

Dropshadow frame.

Element 20 (purple tree)) – Flip. Resize 60%. Paste above mesh layer. Sharpen. Slide to bottom right corner.

Duplicate – mirror.

Dropshadow both.

Element 24 (purple flower vine) – Mirror. Resize 80%. Paste above larger frame layer and slide to the top left corner.

Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Element 5 (castle) – Resize 50%. Paste above top frame layer and slide to right.

Sharpen. Duplicate. On bottom copy, using pick tool, stretch down from the bottom edge to elongate. Sharpen twice. Dropshadow.

On top copy, resize 85% and slide right and down a bit.

Dropshadow.

Element 46 (purple flower) – Resize 30%. Paste above top castle layer and slide down to cover base of castle.

Sharpen. Duplicate – mirror.

Dropshadow both

Element 23 (mist sparkle) –Paste above Element 46 layers and slide down to bottom right corner

Sharpen. Dropshadow

Element 1 (dragon) – Mirror. Resize 60% then 90%. Paste above mist sparkle layer and slide to bottom right corner.

Adjust Hue & Saturation – colorize H = 0    S = 0.

Adjust Brightness and Contrast – B = Minus 20   C= 5.

Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Element 15 (cross with snake) – Resize 50% then 85%. Paste above dragon layer and slide down over dragon’s tail. Sharpen. Duplicate.

In layers palette, move one copy below the dragon. On the top copy, carefully erase the top where it covers the dragon’s face, and also the bottom part covering part of his tail.

You want it to look as if the dragon is coiled around the cross.

Dropshadow bottom copy of cross only.

Click on top copy of cross. In Layers palette, right click and Merge – merge down. Repeat this step so that the two cross layers and the dragon are merged into one. This enables you to move the element later if you want, but still keep it all aligned J

Tube – Mirror. Resize 90%. Paste above cross / dragon layer.

Slide left.

 Sharpen.

Dropshadow, but check the box that says shadow on new layer. I moved the shadow slightly right and down to give a good effect.

Click on tube layer. In Layers palette, right click and Merge – merge down, so that the tube and the shadow are merged into one. This enables you to move the element later if you want

Don’t forget to uncheck the box before dropshadowing the next element though.

Element 34 (flower stem) – Mirror. Resize 50%. Paste above tube layer.

Slide to the bottom left to cover her left leg.

Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Element 3 (red flowers) – Mirror. Resize 40% then 70%. Paste above element 34 layer and slide to the bottom left.

Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Element 13 (plant) –Resize 50% then 70%. Paste above element 3 layer.

Slide to the bottom to cover the tube’s right leg.

Sharpen. Duplicate. In layers palette move this copy to sit below the tube layer. Slide to the far left. Dropshadow.

Element 33 (dead rose) – Resize 30% then 60%. Paste above top element 13 layer. Sharpen. Slide to the bottom.

Dropshadow.

Element 2 (rat) – Mirror. Resize 40% then 70%. Paste above element 33 layer. Sharpen. Slide to the bottom.

Dropshadow.

Add any other embellishments of choice.

Crop & resize if desired.

Add copyrights and name.
