BE MY VALENTINE FTU

You will need:

Font of choice – I used Coventry Garden, found

Mask of choice –I used WSL4 by Wee Scots Lass.

Template - I used DBV Valentine 01 which can be found under Valentine templates

Open DBV Valentine Template 01. Copy, and close original.

Resize 110% all layers checked.

Image – canvas size 700 x 700

Click on Raster 1 at the bottom and floodfill white

Delete Raster 14 (credits), Raster 13 (day), Raster 12 (each day is), Raster 10 (Valentines shadow), and Raster 2 (Hearts).

Add new raster layer on top of white background. Selections – select all. Paste Paper 2 into selection. Deselect

Layers – load/save mask WSL4

Merge group. Stretch to edges.

Duplicate mask and merge both mask layers together.

In layers palette, move Raster 3 (glitter circle) to sit above Raster 4 (circle).

Click on circle. Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat.

Click on Glitter circle and hit delete.

Deselect.

You should be left with a frame.

Rename these layers CIRCLE and CIRCLE FRAME.

In layers palette, move Raster 6 (Big glitter heart) to sit above Raster 7 (Big heart).

Click on heart. Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat.

Click on Glitter heart and hit delete.

Deselect.

You should be left with a frame.

Rename these layers BIG HEART and BIG HEART FRAME.

In layers palette, move Raster 8 (small glitter heart) to sit above Raster 9 (Small heart).

Click on small heart. Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat.

Click on Small glitter heart and hit delete.

Deselect.

You should be left with a frame.

Rename these layers SMALL HEART and SMALL HEART FRAME.

OK – Time to add some colour by filling our template layers.

Starting at the bottom.

CIRCLE - Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Paste Paper 5 into selection.
Deselect.

Sharpen paper 5.

CIRCLE FRAME -  Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Paste Paper 6 into selection.
Deselect.

Sharpen paper 6.

Adjust – add noise Uniform 80, with monochrome checked.

Add inner bevel of choice.

Dropshadow.

Raster 5 (Upright words) – Give inner bevel of choice. Dropshadow

BIG HEART - Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Paste Paper 3 into selection.
Deselect.

Sharpen paper 3.

Free rotate left 15

BIG HEART FRAME -  Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Paste Paper 6 into selection.
Deselect.

Sharpen paper 6.

Adjust – add noise Uniform 80, with monochrome checked.

Add inner bevel of choice.

Dropshadow.

Free rotate left 15

SMALL HEART - Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Paste Paper 4 into selection.
Deselect.

Sharpen paper 4.

Free rotate right 15

SMALL HEART FRAME -  Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Paste Paper 6 into selection.
Deselect.

Sharpen paper 6.

Adjust – add noise Uniform 80, with monochrome checked.

Add inner bevel of choice.

Dropshadow.

Free rotate right 15

VALENTINES (Wordart) – Erase the S at the end.

Set foreground color to #e7e3d9 and background to #8a0200

Make background gradient 45 degrees with 1 repeat.

Click on VALENTINE. Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Fill with gradient. DO NOT DESELECT.

Selections – modify – expand 2. Layers – new raster layer. Fill with #e7e3d9.

Deselect.

On gradient layer. Effects – texture effects – weave with settings 1   2   50 both colors #8a0200.

Give inner bevel of choice.

Make sure gradient layer is on top of filled layer and merge both together.

Dropshadow

Frame 2 (from kit) – Resize 40%.

Paste above the upright words layer and slide so it sits under the top right part of the Big Heart.

Sharpen. Duplicate – mirror and slide to sit under the top left part of the Big Heart.

Dropshadow both.

Ribbon 3 – Paste above Frame 2 layers and slide far left..

Dropshadow.

Tube – Position to the far right.

Dropshadow.

Element 10 (Card) – Resize 40%. Paste above small heart frame layer.

Free rotate right 15. Sharpen. Dropshadow

Bow 10 – Resize 40%. Paste above element 10 Card layer.

Free rotate right 15.

Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Element 11 (Heart trio) – Paste above Bow 10 layer.

Free rotate left 15.

Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Element 31 (sparkles) – Paste above element 11 heart trio layer and slide to bottom left corner. Sharpen.

Duplicate – mirror.

DO NOT Dropshadow the sparkles.

Next layer should be your VALENTINE wordart, which has already been done.

Element 3 (flower cluster) – Resize 65% and slide to the centre bottom.

Sharpen. Dropshadow.

I added some words above the big heart layer, but that’s your choice.

I dropped the opacity down to 65 so it didn’t jump out and slap me round the face quite so much J

Add any other embellishments if you want to.

Crop & resize if desired.

Add copyrights and name.
