DOROTHY FTU

Any similarity to any other tutorial is purely coincidental

You will need:

Font of choice – I used 1 snappy DNA, found

Scrapkit by Wicked Princess called Everyday Lady. This gorgeous kit is FTU and can be found

Tube of choice. I used Dorothy by Keith Garvey. These tubes can be purchased from PSP Tubes Emporium

Mask of choice – I used WSL4

Template 137 by Kristen, which can be found
Scroll down the page a bit and you will see a list of templates to be downloaded.


Open template 137. Copy, and close original
Resize 110% all layers checked.

Image – canvas size 700 x 700

Delete: Credits, dotted line, stars, words, pixel words, glitter rectangle, rectangle and glitter.

To create a frame effect do the following:
Move glitter oval up above the oval in your layers pallette.
Click on oval – Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat.
Click on glitter oval and hit delete. Deselect.

Repeat this step with large glitter circle & teal circle, and the small glitter circle & pink circle.
If you prefer not to have the frame effect, just leave things as they are for now.

Click on white background and add new raster layer.
Selections – select all. Selections - float. Selections – defloat.
Layers – new raster layer
Paste Paper 7 into Selection.
Deselect.
Layers – load/save mask WSL 4 from disk
Merge group.
Stretch to edges.
CLOSE THIS MASK OFF FOR NOW – just click the little eye next to the layer in your layers palette.

Starting from the bottom

Oval  – Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections - defloat. Layers – new raster layer – paste paper 1 into selection. Deselect. Sharpen.
Delete template Layer.
  
Glitter oval – Using same method as above, paste paper 11 into selection. Deselect.
Delete template layer.
Adjust – add noise Gaussian 60, monochrome checked.
Give inner bevel of choice
Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Teal circle  - Using same method as above, paste paper 3 into selection. Deselect.
Delete template layer.

Paste a close up of your tube above the teal circle. Mirror tube and position as desired.
Click on teal circle. Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections - defloat. Selections – invert. Click on tube and hit delete.
Deselect.
Dropshadow tube.

Large glitter circle – Same as glitter oval

Pink circle – Using same method as above, paste paper 4 into selection. Deselect.
Delete template layer.

Small glitter circle – Same as glitter oval.

Main tube – Paste to the right. Dropshadow

Flowerbranches3 – Resize 50% then 80%.
Erase stalk.
Position over the tube on the right.
Duplicate – mirror. Resize this one 90%. Free rotate right 25. Sharpen.
Duplicate – mirror – flip. Move this one under the main tube layer.
Dropshadow all three branches.

Go back to your main tube and erase any of her skirt showing below the bottom right branch.

Bird -  Resize 50% then 40%.
Sharpen.
Position above the bottom left flowerbranch. Duplicate bird, and move one copy under the flowerbranch.
On top copy of bird, erase bottom part of the branch so it looks as if it is behind the flower.
Dropshadow top copy of bird.

Go back to the bottom copy of the bird and duplicate. Mirror. Resize 85% then 90%.
Position above the main tube layer so it appears to be sitting on her shoulder. Free rotate right 7. Sharpen. Dropshadow

Tied bottle2 – Resize 40% then 80%. Sharpen.
Position under your main tube layer. Dropshadow

At this point, ensure all your elements are in position and you have applied all dropshadows. Add any other elements if you wish.

Close off white background, and make sure mask layer is still closed also.
Merge visible. Centralize (easiest way I know is to cut and paste – CtrlX and CtrlV).

Re-open mask layer and merge visible.

Crop & resize if desired.

Add copyrights and name.
