CHERISHED FTU

Written by Gwenda on April 2nd 2013
Any similarity to any other tutorial is purely coincidental

You will need:

Font of choice – I used Londonderry Air, found

Scrapkit is a lovely FTU kit by Claudias Creationz called Romance
You can download it

Tubes of choice. I used Cherished by Keith Garvey. You can purchase these beautiful tubes from his online store

Mask of choice – I used 0Mask046 LT
I’m not sure where I got this mask, so I have supplied it. Please let me know if this is yours, and I will either remove, or supply credits.

Template by Twyztedts playroom. I used Hearts-on-ice temp 3. You can download this

Open Hearts-on-ice temp 3.
Copy, and close original
Delete raster 14 (credits), raster 10 shadow, raster 11 shadow, raster 12 shadow, raster 13 (wordart)

Resize all 90%
Image – canvas size 700 x 600
Click on white layer at the bottom and floodfill white

Set foreground color to #ae7732 and background to #907e77
Make BG gradient 315 degrees with 0 repeat
Click on white background layer.
Layers – new raster layer. Fill with gradient.
Apply 0Mask 046.
In layers palette merge group.
Mirror mask.

Starting from the bottom layer

Raster 7 (long purple rectangle) – Resize Paper 9 by 70% twice. Paste above the Raster 7 layer. Slide to the left so it covers the rectangle.
Sharpen. Duplicate – mirror and merge both papers together.
Click on Raster 7 layer. Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Selections – invert.
Click on Paper 9 and hit delete.
 Deselect.
Sharpen.
Give inner bevel of choice. Dropshadow.
Delete template layer.

Raster 8 (two thin rectangles) – Duplicate. On one copy erase the top rectangle. On the other, erase the bottom one, so the two thin rectangles are both on their own raster. Rename these LOWER RECT and UPPER RECT.
The reason we are splitting them is so that the gradient doesn’t spread between the two. It’s a much nice effect.

Set foreground color to #87746d and background to #cbbdb9. Make background gradient 0 degrees with 1 repeat (lighter color in the middle)

Click on LOWER RECT. Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Fill with gradient.
Deselect.
Dropshadow.
Delete template layer.

Click on UPPER RECT and repeat the above step.

Copy of Raster 9 (horizontal hearts) – Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Paste Paper 2 into selection.
Deselect.
Delete template layer.
Give hearts inner bevel of choice
Adjust – add noise, Uniform 60, monochrome box checked
Dropshadow.

Merge the two thin rectangles and the horizontal heart layers together.

To finish off, re-open the merged horizontal thin rectangles / hearts
Erase one of them so you just have a single bar.
Slide this down to the bottom of the tag to cover the tube’s cut off legs.
You don’t have to do this bit, especially if you use a different tube, but I thought it finished it off nicely.

Add any other embellishments of choice.

Crop & resize if desired.

Add copyrights and name.
