ROCK THAT JINX PTU

Written by Gwenda on January 20th 2013
Any similarity to any other tutorial is purely coincidental

You will need:

Font of choice – I used Vice Presidente, found

Scrapkit is a lovely kit by Bibi’s Collections called Rocking Jinx
You can purchase this kit

Tube of choice. I used Fedora by Ray Leaning. I purchased this tube from PTE, and unfortunately I haven’t been able to find where he is selling now.
His blog can be found

Second example uses a tube called Seductress by Barbara Jensen.
You can buy these awesome tubes

Open new canvas 700 x 700
Fill with white.

Element 7 (black tulle) - Paste as new layer and slide to top left corner.
Duplicate – mirror and merge both together.
Duplicate – flip.
Merge both layers together.
Duplicate again and merge.
Dropshadow.

Element 1 (frame) – Resize 85% and paste in centre of canvas, above tulle layer.
Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Selections – modify – expand 1.
Layers – new raster layer. Fill with #f9e1e5.
Deselect.
Make sure pale pink layer is below frame.
Give frame inner bevel of choice then merge down to pink layer.
Dropshadow.

Set your foreground to null and background to something you can see easily (I used white).
Using your ellipse tool, draw a circle under the frame – up to about the 3rd ring from the outside of the frame.
Objects – align – centre in canvas.
Convert to raster.
Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Layers – new raster layer. Paste Paper 1 into selection. Deselect.
Delete white circle.
Sharpen Paper 1.

Tube - Paste Tube above frame and move into desired position.
Duplicate tube and in layers palette move one copy under frame, but above paper 1 circle.
Click on Paper 1 circle. Selections – select all. Selections – float. Selections – defloat. Selections – invert.
Click on bottom tube and hit delete.
Deselect.
On top copy of tube, erase the bottom bit so it looks as if she is coming out of the frame.
Dropshadow top copy of tube only.

Element 12 (red ribbon) – Resize 75% and paste above top tube layer. Slide into desired position.
Duplicate ribbon and in layers palette, move one copy below top tube.
On top ribbon, carefully erase parts so it looks as if it is threaded through the fingers.
Dropshadow top copy of ribbon.
In layers palette, right click on top ribbon layer Merge – merge down.
Right click again. Merge – merge down. Your top tube and 2 ribbon layers should be on the same layer.

Element 60 (bubbles) – Paste above frame layer, under tube.
Slide right. Sharpen. Duplicate – mirror.
Dropshadow both.

Element 50 (scatter) -. Resize 80%.
Paste above Bubbles layer and slide to the bottom right. Sharpen.
Duplicate – mirror – flip.
Dropshadow both.

Element 11 (leaves) – Paste above the scatter layers. Free rotate left 90 and slide to the left.
Sharpen.  Dropshadow.

Element 17 (notes) – Paste above leaves layer. Slide left. Sharpen.
Dropshadow.

Your merged tube / ribbons layer should be sitting on top.
