A PINKISH KIND OF WINTER PTU

Written by Gwenda on November 12th 2012
Any similarity to any other tutorial is purely coincidental

You will need:

Font of choice – I used A&S Christmas Script, found

Scrapkit is another beautiful Pay to Use kit called Pinkish Winter by Nicky of Devilish Designz.
You can purchase this kit

Tube of choice. I used Float, by Barbara Jensen. You can purchase these beautiful tubes from Barbara’s site.

Mask of choice – I used WSL4 from Wee Scots Lass.

Snow

New canvas 600 x 600
Fill white.

Layers – new raster layer.
Selections – select all. Paste Paper 4 into selection.
Deselect.
Apply mask WSL4
In layers palette, merge group.
Stretch mask to all edges.

Scattered Poinsettias – Resize 60% and position in top left corner. Sharpen.
Duplicate – mirror. Merge both poinsettia layers together.
Duplicate – flip. Merge both together.
Dropshadow.

Frame 4 – Resize 80%. Sharpen
Dropshadow.

Winter Scene -  Paste below frame. Don’t worry about the excess – we will be sorting that out later.

OK . . . now for the fun bit – the Snow!!

Click on the Winter scene, which should be sitting just under the frame.
Go to Snow 484 x 484 and copy frame 1.
Back to your tag, and paste as a new layer. Rename SNOW1
It should fit exactly inside your frame. If not, resize the frame and the Winter scene to fit.

If you don’t want to animate, do not paste any more snow layers, but go directly to ***

Back to Snow 484 x 484 and copy frame 2
Back to your tag and paste as a new layer above SNOW1.
Rename this one SNOW2.

Keep doing this with all the snow frames from Snow 484 x 484, pasting each one above the other and renaming as you go.
You should end up with 10 snow layers and a really messy looking tag lol.
Don’t Panic! Tidy-up time.

*** Click inside frame with magic wand. Selections – modify – expand 15. Selections – invert. Click on the Winter scene and hit delete. Click on each of the snow layer(s) in order, and hit delete.
Deselect.

Now in layers palette, go to each of the snow layers, and click the little eye to the left to close it. Do this to all snow layers except SNOW1.

Sleigh 1 – Resize 50%. Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Tube – position as desired
Close off white background.

Snow (from kit) – Resize 80% and arrange under your tube.
Duplicate, and move bottom copy up a little and to the right.
Dropshadow.

Packages 1 – Mirror. Resize 40% & position on right.
Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Packages 2 –Resize 40% & position on left under tube.
Sharpen. Dropshadow.

Holly 1 – Resize 30% then 85%.
Position to right of frame
Sharpen. Duplicate – mirror.
Dropshadow both.

Reindeer1 – Resize 50%. Sharpen
Position to left above tube.
Dropshadow.

Add any other embellishments of choice

Add copyrights
